Procedure
The procedure for taking a candidacy exam is
as follows.
-
When the student and the guidance committee
have determined that the examination should be taken,
the chairman of the exam is chosen by the committee and
the student should obtain a Request for Permission to Take the
Ph.D. Candidacy Examination form.
(University Form 15).
-
The student should secure the signatures
of the guidance committee.
-
No later than four weeks before the date of the exam,
the student should submit the form to the
graduate program director and school dean, who will verify
that the student meets the prerequisite for the candidacy
examination.
-
Once permission has been granted,
postponement of the examination must have the approval of the
research guidance committee and
graduate program director.
