Computer Science majors can receive a minor in Information Systems by completing the following courses:
IT 361, Information Systems Planning and Analysis (pre-req: Acct 201) IT 415, Business Telecommunications and Networks IT 450, Database Concepts IT 473, Information Systems Design, Development and Implementation
Note:
Students completing CS 455, Introduction to Networks and Communication and CS 450,
Database Concepts as part of their CS major
can not take IT 415 and IT 450. IT 415 and 450 should be replaced with other IT courses. The minor will in all cases
consists of a minimum of four IT courses.
The following Computer Science courses can be substituted for the Information Systems courses indicated:
CS 147, Introductory Computer Programming
or CS 149D, Elements of Computer Science
or CS 150, Introduction to Programming
IT 210, Introduction to Programming with C++
CS 170, Computer Organization and Architecture I
IT 317, Principles of Technology Architecture
CS 250, Problem Solving and Programming
IT 310, Enterprise Solutions with C++
Electives:
One CS course elective can be done for a concentration election but not for a College of Business elective. Please seek guidance from your major advisor for further information.
