Tamer Nadeem
Faculty, Old Dominion University
Computer Science Department

Dr. Tamer Nadeem joined Department of Computer Science at ODU as Assistant Professor on January 2011. Before joining ODU, he was a research scientist at Siemens Corporate Research (SCR) in Princeton, USA from July 2005 to end of 2010. While he was at SCR, Dr. Nadeem led several projects in the area of dynamic radio management for enterprise wireless networks, efficient cross layer protocols for vehicular networks, intelligent transportation systems, location estimation and tracking of WLAN devices, and statistical characterization of VoWLAN.

From 2004-2005, Dr. Nadeem was at Fujitsu Labs of America (FLA) in College Park, USA. While he was at FLA, he participated in designing, analyzing, and evaluating new paradigms for 802.11 wireless networks such as access points with sectorized antennas. From 2000-2004, he was a member of the Maryland Information and Network Dynamics Laboratory (MIND) at the University of Maryland. His work, while at MIND Lab, on Rover project was cited in Scientific American Magazine: "Seeking Better Web Searches" on February 2005.

Dr. Nadeem's technical interest include wireless management for smart devices and enterprise networks, vehicular networks, intelligent transportation system, cyber physical systems, distributed and embedded systems, smart grid, network security, mobile and pervasive computing, peer-to-peer systems, energy efficient protocols, modeling and analyzing network protocols, cross layer design mechanisms, and location determination systems.
