Microsoft's Imagine Cup 2011 Software Design Competition is accepting new project ideas. Final day for submission is February 15th. Winner's prize will be a trip to Microsoft's HQ in Seatle and a monetary award of $8,000

Develop an application that helps solve one of the world's toughest problems

Yes, it's true; an idea can change the world. ImagineCup is the world's premier student technology competition, sponsored by Microsoft. This is your chance to make a difference and use technology to help solve the world's toughest problems - through Software Design.

It is a 3-step process

  • 1. Using just your school name and email address, register for Imagine Cup 2011 and create your own team of up to four people
  • 2. Design a project to help .solve the world.s toughest problems. ; using Microsoft Visual Studio to build an app for Windows, Web, Cloud, or Mobile. To get started, view the Software Design Competition details, FAQs, rules and free resources at http://bit.ly/IC2011
  • 3. Don't forget to submit your idea on the starter project plan by February 15.
