Gary Kumfert is one of the principal architects of the Babel language interoperability tool and the Scientific Interface Definition Language (SIDL); both of which are fundamental technologies of the CCA.

Gary Kumfert is a Computer Scientist at the Center for Applied Scientific Computing (CASC) at Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory. He earned his Ph.D. in Computer Science under Alex Pothen and a B.S. in Applied Math, both from Old Dominion University.
