Ravi Mukkamala's current research interests are in distributed systems, performance modeling and analysis, application and data security, wireless and Adhoc network security, and Health usage and Monitoring Systems (HUMS) architectures for avionics. This research, in the past, has been funded by research grants from NASA Langley Research Center, Commonwealth Information Security Center (CISC), IBM, Center for Innovative Technologies (CIT), Naval Research laboratories, and SCHEV.
Professor Mukkamala's current research projects include: policy-based security for change management (with Professors Maly and Zubair), secure sharing in dynamic coalition systems (with Professor Atluri, Rutgers University), and cost-benefit modeling for commercial airline industry (with Professor Creedon, Aeronautics Department). In addition, he is working on distributed workflow algorithms (with Professor Atluri and Professor Soon, Rutgers University). He is also looking into threat modeling.
