Prospective Students

The Department offers a Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science. The Department co-sponsors two other bachelor's degree programs: Computer Engineering, offered jointly with the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering, and Computer Engineering Technology, offered jointly with the Department of Engineering Technology.

The Department also provides an endorsement for Computer Science Education and a minor in the Computer Science program. Students from any Virginia Community College can transfer into the Computer Science program at Old Dominion University.

The field of computer science can trace its foundation to both mathematics and engineering methodology with the emphasis on practical experience. Using this philosophy, the Computer Science Department has designed a unique curricular model that seeks to provide an increased relevance to the real world. The Professional Workforce Development integrated throughout the curriculum, expands upon the experimental and design approach by introducing the creativity and productivity required for business and industrial development.
