Work Experience/Independent Study Courses

Independent Study Course:

    CS 497 Independent Study
To take this course, a student should agree with some CS faculty member that they will do an independent study. This must be done in advance and must be in an area that the faculty member and student are both interested in. Faculty are not obligated to accept students for independent studies, it is a privilege granted to those students who merit this service. Other faculty have different criteria but I would only do if for a student who is truly exceptional and mature. They should be able to learn the material on their own, I merely keep tabs of what they are learning, I do not teach it to them. If you do an independent study with another faculty member you may register for this course as a convenience or you may ask Dr. Levinstein to schedule a new section of 497 with the other faculty members name on it.

PLEASE DO NOT REGISTER FOR THIS COURSE UNLESS YOU HAVE A PRIOR AGREEMENT WITH ME OR WITH ANOTHER FACULTY MEMBER (you must give me the name of the supervising faculty member in this case.)
