::: ATTENTION! :::

This is an Internet-based course. Graded elements will be due every week. This course requires that students access the Internet every week for course information, retrieval of course documents, and submission of graded elements. Students will have to be able to download software for use in this course, and may have to purchase headphones and/or microphones in order to complete one of the major elements. Consequently, those students who do not have access to a high-speed Internet may have difficulty.

A formal oral presentation is required. This will be accomplished by building a PowerPoint slide show, recording the spoken component (microphone and speakers required - these will not be provided by the university), and building, zipping, and loading the presentation in BlackBoard. Students will be required to use a microphone and have speakers for listening to and recording presentations. This equipment may have to be provided by the student. This is not a trival assignment, and must be completed at least one week before it is to be viewed in order to solve any related problems in a timely manner.

Students must be willing to become proficient with the Internt tools used in the course. Students wishing to avoid the challenges imposed for the Internet-based version should register for the "live" lecture section.

There will be one Orientation Meeting for the course. Otherwise, the class will not meet, and all students are expected to be self-motivated to complete the required elements and to master the required use of technology.

We will be using Blackboard for this course.

You must go to the Blackboard Student Help Page and perform the “Computer Compatibility Test” to ensure that software used by Blackboard is installed on your computer.

In order to access Blackboard you must have your have an active Old Dominion University Student e-mail account.

Tutorials for Blackboard can be on the Blackboard Student Help Page including instructions for Logging on
