What is ATN?

The infrastructure required to support the interconnection of automated ATM(Air Traffic Systems) is referred to as Aeronautical Telecommunication Network(ATN). The design of ATN allows communication services for different groups ie., air traffic services(ATS), aeronautical operational control(AOC),aeronautical administrative communicatons(AAC) and aeronautical passenger communications(APC).The design provides for the incorporation of different air-ground subnetworks (eg., SSR Mode S, AMSS, VDL) and different air-ground subnetworks, resulting in comman data transfer service.
