Problem Description

The tools available to undergraduate students do not provide sufficient insight into the requirements which must be met to complete their degree, and to determine the best time to graduation, being the Critical Path.

Students do not have sufficient tools to construct a degree plan that is guaranteed to be valid.

Students who deviate from the Critical Path do not have a method to determine the consequences on their graduation timeline.

Advisors currently don’t have a convenient way to help students assess the negative impacts on their Critical Path.

Students do not have an effective planning tool to explore alternative degree programs.

Solution Statement

Critical Path is a curriculum planning web application for students that provides them with the ability to dynamically plan, model, and evaluate their academic goals.

Integrate completed coursework and GPA performance information with new/revised curriculum planning objectives to establish the Critical Path.

Present the student with a realtime, visual representation of the impact of altering the Critical Path and the resultant effect on the graduation timeline.

Integrate a dynamic interface where students can explore alternative courses and degree programs.
