For people looking to volunteer or organizations seeking volunteers, Voluntunities is a solution that offers both parties a simple resource that will allow them to view or post volunteer opportunities in their surrounding area.
SOLUTION CHARACTERISTICS
- Web application/smartphone app acting as a “virtual bulletin board” for volunteer opportunities
- Allows willing users to view, search, and sort possible volunteer opportunities in an area
- Allows organizations seeking volunteers to post opportunities, including details such as what is needed, how many are needed, desired skills, and how to apply
What it will do:
- Present the information about volunteer opportunities in a simple, concise matter
- Gather organizational volunteer information and display it on one outlet,in a sortable fashion suited to the volunteers’ personal cause preferences
- Allow users to log their hours and post pictures of their organization/ volunteering efforts through both the application website and social media
What it won’t do:
- Submit volunteer applications
- Market the campaigns of various drives causes and fundraising events
- Initially will not allow virtual volunteer opportunities*
