THE PROBLEM

Dogs in America have been on an alarming trend of gaining weight throughout the past couple of decades. The Association for Pet Obesity Prevention states that as many as 55.8 percent of dogs in the United States are overweight! Even just a few pounds can make a huge difference in your pets overall health. Weight is a contributer, but it is far from the sole problem.

While dogs may not have the ability to speak to us when they are feeling ill, they still show signs of sicknesses, you just have to know what to look for. The problem is that there are too many subtle signs to look for in order for you to be truly effective at detecting an illness before it is already in more advanced stages. Another issue is not having the ability to easily share information regarding your pet. Usa Today states that 40 percent of dog owners did not receive any diet information from their vet office.

The problem lies with owners not understanding the amount of care that owning a dog requires, or simply losing track of what needs to be cared for. This often leads to focusing in on one aspect of your animals life (weight) while something else is acting up (change in sleep habbit). We are all human, we simply do not have an all in one solution when it comes to our pets health and lifestyle.

OUR PROBLEM STATEMENT

Dog owners who want to ensure their pets lead a long and healthy life often do not fully recognize the need for, and advantages of, proper exercise, diet, and proper attention to their medical needs.
