Problem Statement

Groups of people lack an efficient and effective way to choose dining options that suit everyone's preferences

Problem Characteristics

  • Current applications offer no way of combining preferences of multiple users to narrow down the selection of a restaurant for a group to eat
  • Group discussions are often unstructured, undemocratic, and time consuming
  • All that must be taken into consideration when suggesting a restaurant:
    • Previous rating given by group members
    • Preference of food category of each member
    • Hours Open
    • Geographic Location
    • Price Range
    • Waiter Service
    • Attire
    • Payment Options
    • Outdoor Seating
    • Alcohol availability
    • Wifi availability
    • Noise Level

Solution Characteristics

  • All individuals in a group should have to way to voice their preferences into an app that will ask narrowing questions
  • Ranking algorithm will determine Best Matches from collective preferences
  • Individuals can then vote on a final restaurant decision
