Problem Statement:
Universities must provide a unified platform that connects freshman students to the resources intended to provide a successful college experience.
Problem Characteristics:
- Freshmen students do not feel connected to the university social life
- Resource information is spammed via diverse communication channels without regard to individual student interest or need
- Diverse communication channels are problematic
- Information that does reach students may be overlooked due to "information overload"
- Students have limited ability to have information tailored to their interests or needs
Current Process:
Students receive information through multiple channels; emails, flyers, announcements, word-of-mouth, etc. Due to the amount of information presented through these diverse channels, students may miss out on information on resources that are applicable to their interests and needs.
