Sun Microsystems Collaborative Research

These are the current investment priorities of the Sun Grant/AEG program.
  • Teaching, research and/or development of Java and Solaris technologies
  • Advancement of Sun's network computing vision in primary and secondary education
  • Application of network based instructional computing
  • Advancement of Sun's High Performance Computing strategies and architecture
  • Use of Sun technology by Computer Science and Engineering students, faculty, and staff (however, we do not limit our investment to these)
  • The Virtual Teaching Assistant clearly meat several of these specifications. Mainly Advancement of Sun’s network computing vision in primary and Secondary Education and Application of network based instructional computing. Also we me meet the last standard of use of sun technology by faculty and staff since we desire to make our product multi platform, thus not limiting ourselves to just a windows based product, thus making sun a desirable source to seek funding.
