Rowland Harrison

March 14, 1996

Today marked our second meeting with Rowland Harrison. In it, we discussed the proposal that was sent via e-mail to us. The largest topic of discussion for this meeting was what is the outcome of our work? What are we trying to do? What is expected of us? Rowland's answers were that we are trying to create a budget request. That should be our first step.

In this request we should have a list of expectations pertaining to the manpower and number of hours of labor that will be required in addition to the amount of money needed for this and equipment (preferably loaner equipment). We are trying to create a basic prototype kiosk-type system with dummy data to prototype. Our purpose is to try and show the feasibility and usefullness of the kiosk.

One very good place for us to start was set down by Rowland. According to him, Old Dominion University is currently getting in 2 Kiosks from North Communications Inc. that will work with Sprintlink and allow net access through pay accounts. We are going to try and figure out whether it is possible to use our applications with their kiosk, or if it would be more efficient to get another. Paul Allison is our contact there and the next person we need to talk to.
