Progress Report #1
This is the first meeting of the group with new members in the Spring96
semester.
Agenda Discussions
Our first meeting with Dr. Wild was held Thursday and some basic descisions
were made as to the focus of the project for this semester.
One of the things he pointed out that we need to think about is
WHO is it that we are targeting. Is this just for ODU,
or can we apply the basic structure of our project to any college campus?
By the end of the semester, we hope to have a working point and click scheduler
prototyped. Alot of work has to be done in order to achieve this.
The Napkin Meeting
Shortly after our meeting with Dr. W, we sat down to try and hash out a
rough schedule of exactly what we need to work on and when we
think these things will be accomplished...
Different implementation techniques of the CGI Scheduler were discussed.
The biggest problem attacked was the conflict resolution routine.
We decided that using 24 hour time as opposed to 12 hour time would make
testing much easier.
There is much debate over the format of the enormous amounts of data involved
in getting all of the classes online.
