In CS410, we designed our original system for commercial use under the trade name the Intelligent Sprinkler System (ISS). ISS's target market was golf courses and other large businesses that require intensive lawn maintenance.

In CS411 we changed not only the name of the product, but the whole idea.  The group decided that focusing on golf courses limited the scope of the product, and chose instead to target middle to upper-class families.  The Intelligent Lawn Care System (ILCS) was born.

This change reduced the size of our system significantly.  The original idea of "multiple zones" became an option instead of a necessity.  This simplification made our goals more realistic.  Our market size increased dramitically from a small number of golf courses to a large number of homeowners.

The future of our system is clear.  Currently a prototype has been developed and our team will present it this month.  If all goes well we will see the Intelligent Lawn Care System emerge as the leading autonomous lawn maintenance system on the market today.
