Fuel Tracker
By Drew Carpenter, Thomas Carson, Tom Staley
Description
With ever increasing gas prices people are looking for ways to lower their fuel intake.
One overlooked method is driving habits. Keeping a steady speed and accelerating over
longer distances improve mpg. Fuel Tracker keeps track of your position through gps
and also keeps track of your driving habits with the accelerometer. Fuel Tracker then uses
an equation to compute gas mileage.
Motivation
The motivation of this app was to make something new. Other apps on the market
just have the user type in mileage and gives the user a gas mileage. Fuel Tracker adds in an element
that those don't have and that is automation. Another motivation behind this app was to create a great
tool for students who needed to budget and watch how much gas they were spending. Fuel Tracker can also
be used in a commercial enviroment for companys that want to improve on drivers fuel efficiency
