The following instructions will show you who to install and run
Warrick
on a Windows XP machine. I will assume you have downloaded and unzipped Warrick onto drive C: in a
folder called Warrick (C:\Warrick).
- Install ActivePerl which is
free if you download it from their website. It installs just like most Windows programs.
- Next you will install SOAP-Lite using ActiveState's Perl Package Manager.
- To run the Perl Package Manager, click Start -> All Programs -> ActiveState ActivePerl -> Perl Package Manager.
- A black window will open, and you will enter the following:
ppm> install SOAP-Lite
- After the package has been installed, you can quit the Perl Package Manager by entering "quit".
- Now open a command prompt available from Start -> All Programs -> Accessories -> Command Prompt
- In the black window that appears, enter:
cd c:\Warrick
This will take you to the Warrick directory.
- Now enter:
warrick.pl -r -wr ia -c http://yourwebsite.com/
in the black window. You'll see Warrick output information as it reconstructs the website.
Let it go until you see it complete and return to the prompt where you can type information.
- You should see a directory called yourwebsite.com in the Warrick directory
(C:\Warrick\yourwebsite.com) that contains all the files you have recovered.
