The dates of MS projects presentations are as follows:

 

The 2nd Friday and the following Monday of:

 

·        February

·        April

·        September 

·        November

 

 

Thus we will have a total of eight sessions per year.

Each session is 2 hours, from 2-4pm in the Department Conference Room E&CS 3316.

For the Fall 09 Semester the dates of presentations of Part 2 are:

1.   Friday Nov 13

2.   Monday Nov 16

The time of all the four sessions is: 2-4pm

The place of all the four sessions is: Faculty Conference Room E&CS RM 3316

The deadline for registration is:

Midnight Monday Nov 2, 2009

The faculty will review your submitted abstracts and after consultation with your advisor,

an announcement of the schedule and the abstracts will be posted by Friday Nov 6, 2009.

to find out the guideline of how to find an advisor and what constitute an MS project.

 

 

Registration:

 

Ø Please check with your project advisor and find if you are ready to present your MS project

Ø Use the Unix command ( you must have an active Unix account):

 

% submit   gpd

 

         choose MS_Project_Registration

         and  submit a single word file containing:

 

1.   The sessions which are NOT possible for you and your advisor to attend (with explanation).

2.   An abstract of your project.

 

Pre-Presentation:

At least one hour before the start of your session, use:

% submit   gpd

 

         choose MS_Project_PowerPointPresenation and submit a single power point file containing your presentation.

 

During-Presentation:

Ø You will just open your submitted presentation (to minimize setup time between different presentations).

Ø You will have to mange and budget your allotted time effectively.

Ø The attending faculty will judge your presentation quality and style and make recommendations to the GPD for Pass/Fail  (thus you should practice your presentation in advance).

Post-Presentation:

Following your presentation and after the approval of your advisor, use:

% submit   gpd

 

         choose MS_Project_Reports

        

Your submission should include:

1. The MS project report

2. The MS project PowerPoint presentation (again).

3. Any software developed for the MS project (unless your advisor asks for a waiver).

Put all your files under a single directory and just submit the directory.

The GPD will check your submission as part of your graduation requirements.

Students (who are not presenting) may count a session as one colloquium.
