The following two rules will apply
to all new MS students who are going to start in the Fall
semester
(August 2005).
- "No more than 6 credits of the following courses may be
counted
towards the degree: CS 597, CS 697, CS 791/891 and CS 796/896.
Seminars, independent studies, and topics courses offered by other
departments may be subject to similar restrictions. Students should
consult the CS Graduate Program Director before registering for such
courses."
- "At least 3 credits counted toward the CS degree must be
taken at the
700-level from courses other than CS 791/891 and CS 796/896."
Current MS students are reminded to follow the existing regulations
governing the independent study (IS) courses specified at:
http://www.cs.odu.edu/~home_g/grad_home/grad_info/independentStudy.html
In particular they
should be aware of the following rule:
- The student
must submit a plan (about one page) of the independent study which is to
be signed by the instructor and the Graduate Program Director before
registration. A copy of this form should be kept in the student file.
Please do not register for an IS
course before your request is approved.
