Admission to Candidacy

Admission to candidacy is a formal step that occurs after the student has:

1. Passed the Ph.D. candidacy examination,
2. Filed a dissertation proposal approved by the dissertation committee, and
3. Completed formal course work.

The student must be admitted to candidacy at least 12 months before the time the degree is expected to be received.
