11/27/2001

  1. Satisfy all the degree requirements - See Graduate Handbook
  2. Note on PREREQUISITES to graduate program:
    • Those who do not have BS in CS are required to take some undergraduate courses as a prerequisite to our graduate program (this requirement is indicated in the letter of admission to you).
    • The prerequisite subjects to the graduate program are considered part of the necessary breadth every MS/PhD of this department should have. Therefore,
    • These courses will not be waived unless you demonstrate knowledge on them EARLY in your course of studies at ODU.

  3. Submit the INTENTION of GRADUATION form to the Registrar's Office
ONE SEMESTER BEFORE the intended graduation date.
    • The deadline is given on the front page of the schedule book.
    • Also check Deadlines & Important Dates
    • This form is available at CS office or Registrars office.

  4. Thesis/Dissertation must be submitted to the dean's office by a certain date, WELL BEFORE the END of the SEMESTER.
    • This date is announced by the dean's office every semester (usually November for Fall and April for Spring)
    • Also check Deadlines & Important Dates
    • For the thesis/dissertation guide and submission procedure Click here.
Especially check the items on the Deans Office checklist.
The Dean checks only the final version.

  5. You MUST be ENROLLED in some course during your LAST semester. If there is no course to take, you can register for GRAD 999. An incomplete in a course is not considered "enrolled".

  6. You must pay all the outstanding fees and fines, and return the books, keys, and any equipments you borrowed from the university.
