Internet Multimedia on Wireless Networks Abstract: With the advent of speed technologies like ATM and fibre, multimedia applications like voice, video and hit bitrate data could be supported on pakcet siwtched networks. Internet has gained popularity as a very convenient platform for applications and supports easy access to users. Meanwhile the mobile user population is growing at a fast rate and so are their demands for multimedia applications support with some Guaranteed of Service. Hence it is expected that currently a lot of research focus is directed towards supporting multimedia application to the roaming user on a convenient platform like the Internet. This talk deals with some of the issues that have to be handled to make this requirement feasibile. The main focus is on the network protocols that require some additional functions to achieve this.
