Geometric Modeling Applications and Geospatial Visualization Dr. Anshuman Razdan Computing Studies Program Arizona State University MONDAY March 1, 2010 E & C S BUILDING AUDITORIUM (1ST FLOOR) TIME: 10:00 (DONUTS) 10:15 (TALK) The talk will cover a variety of topics and projects recently completed and underway in Dr. Razdan's labs (I3DA and PRISM) at Arizona St. University. The projects are very interdisciplinary in nature and will showcase work with other discipline experts. The overview will include 3D and image segmentation of human body data, stereo cloud images, curve matching for image registration, developing George Washington in 3D at various ages, some topics in Geo-visualization, handwriting and machine printed text analysis for document exploitation, etc. Bio Dr. Anshuman Razdan is an Associate Professor in the Computing Studies Program and the Director of Advanced Technology Innovation Center (ATIC,) and the I3DEA Lab (i3dea.asu.edu) at Arizona State University at Polytechnic campus. He has been a pioneer in computing based interdisciplinary collaboration and research at ASU. His research interests include Geometric Design, Computer Graphics, Document Exploitation and Geospatial visualization and analysis. He is the Principal Investigator and a collaborator on several federal grants from agencies including NSF, NGA and NIH and DHS. He has a BS and MS in Mechanical Engineering and PhD in Computer Science.
