Simulating and understanding rigid-body dynamics

Rigid-body dynamics with impact and friction is all around us in our every-day lives, and yet the mathematics and numerics of this area is little known and needs much development. In this talk I will say a bit about Coulomb friction, impulsive forces and impacts, modeling, and the purer parts of mathematics that come into play, such as measure theory, complementarity problems, and differential inclusions.
