CS 665 Announcements, Spring 1998

Class notes have been posted in html form as follows: Lecture 1. Lecture 2. Lecture 3. Lecture 4. Lecture 5. Lecture 6. Lecture 7. Lecture 8. Lecture 9. Lecture 10. Lecture 12. Lecture 13. Lecture 14. The gif inserts generated by the program "latex2html" are not very pretty, but we will seek to improve as we go along.

These notes are made available solely for the convenience of students registered for CS 665 during the Spring 1998 semester at Old Dominion University. They are not intended to be pedagogically complete, should not be distributed outside of the class, and should not be assumed to substitute for lecture attendance (Please check out the class videotape to make up a lecture). Many slides in this html digest consist of titles only, and reference copyrighted materials available elsewhere in conventional published form or on the WWW, as shown. The authoritative reference for CS 665 is the textbook by Hennessey and Patterson.

If you elect to print them please do so in a small font, claim your outputs promptly, and recycle them when done, unless you keep them as part of your course records. Environmental abuses found at the printer or in departmental wastebaskets will be curbed by cessation of note posting. (I am regularly amazed by how much printing people do for things that are only used once or twice before being discarded.)

The notes will remain on-line through May 7, 1998.
