This course deals with the basic protocols, techniques and programming issues to secure network and computer systems. Topics include: Basic cryptographic algorithms and concepts (Secret Key Cryptography, Hashes and Message Digests.  Public Key and Authentication); Security Standards (Kerberos, Public Key Infrastructure,  IPsec, SSL/TLS); Security  applications (PEM, S/MIME,  HTTP, etc); Hands on programming using OpenSSL.
