Portfolio for Michael L. Nelson

Fall 2003 & Spring 2004

My research is in the area of digital libraries (DLs), specifically concerning the representation, responsibilities and interfaces between archives (or repositories) and the stored objects themselves. I am currently researching how digital objects can be self-preserving, building Open Archives Initiative Protocol for Metadata Harvesting (OAI-PMH) capability into Apache web servers and conveying rights expressions in OAI-PMH.
