GENERAL WRITTEN COMMENTS:

WHAT FACTORS ABOUT THIS CLASS CONTRIBUTED THE MOST TO YOUR LEARNING? WHAT ASPECTS OF THIS CLASS HELPED YOU TO LEARN THINK CRITICALLY?

The master's level of this class is what first got me excited about doing research in this field. All of the topics are presented first in a "here's the idea" followed by a "what's the consequence" and then by "what else could be done" approach that guides the student to critical thinking in the topic area.
-------------------------------------------------------------------
great papers as reading assignments
-------------------------------------------------------------------

WHAT DID YOU LIKE MOST ABOUT THE CLASS AND YOUR INSTRUCTOR?

Dr. Nelson is not only enthusiastic but very involved in this area of computer science. His genuine interest and deep knowledge of the topic make his lectures worthwhile. He has a great sense of humor and can relate the topic to many other areas of practical application.
-------------------------------------------------------------------
he always had great examples to explain theoretical concepts and make it more vivid
-------------------------------------------------------------------

WHAT CHANGES IF ANY, COULD BE MADE TO THE CLASS THAT WOULD HAVE HELPED YOU TO LEARN MORE? WHAT COULD THE INSTRUCTOR HAVE DONE TO MAKE THE COURSE AN EVEN BETTER LEARNING EXPERIENCE?

Great course as is.
-------------------------------------------------------------------
maybe let the students present on one paper each
-------------------------------------------------------------------

WHAT FACTORS ABOUT YOUR OWN PERFORMANCE HELPED YOU LEARN THE MOST? WHAT DID YOU DO TO FACILITATE YOUR LEARNING?

Read all the assigned materials in advance.
-------------------------------------------------------------------
read the papers and afterwards read through the handouts
-------------------------------------------------------------------

WHAT COULD YOU HAVE DONE TO MAKE THE COURSE AN EVEN BETTER LEARNING EXPERIENCE?

If I had a photographic memory, it would help a lot...
-------------------------------------------------------------------
take notes which summarize the papers in order to be able to refer to them at a later time
