Paper Grading Guidelines

There are four main components to the grade for your paper:

Grammar
- Are there many grammatical/spelling errors?
Style
- Does the writing flow?
- Is the paper interesting to read?
Organization
- Is the paper organized in a clear, logical manner?
- Does the paper contain the required headings?
- Does the paper follow the required format?
Content
- Does the paper cover the topic well?
- Is there enough background material?

Presentation Grading Guidelines

I will be looking for the following items when you give your presentation:

Slides

Slides contain no spelling or grammatical errors.
Slides contain interesting graphics that support the text.
Slides have a neat/clean/non-distracting layout.
There is an appropriate amount of text on each slide.

Presentation Style

Presenter faces the audience and often makes eye contact.
Presenter does not only read from the slides or notes.
Presenter speaks with a clear, confident voice and at an appropriate speed.
Presenter manages time well.

Topic

Presentation is logically organized.
Presenter discusses an appropriate amount of background and context information.
Presenter makes the main points of the presentation clear.
