The research is funded by a grant from Commonwealth Information Security Center at James Madison University. This website is under development and will contain materials related to the Research on Public Key Infrastructure that has been undertaken by the faculty and students at Old Dominion University.

The ODU PKI is initiated by Professor Ravi Mukkamala, Professor; Ph.D., Iowa, 1987. As of Spring 2002 the ODU PKI has 11 students researching in specific areas of PKI.

Currently, the PKI research at ODU is carried out in the areas of Active Certificates, Recertification, Prototyping a PKI for Educational Institution, Evaluation of PKI vendors, Classification of PKI users, Agent-based security Architecture and PKI-based wireless security. A brief description of the work being carried out in these areas is available here
