  Redisgned CPI CS core course CS 411 into CS 411W, the writing intensive course in the major. First offered Fall 2002.

  Developed New course materials and designed the course for CS 150 using C++ as the programming language. First offered Fall 1995.
  
  Developed Introduction to Programming with Pascal with formal laboratories using networked UNIX based workstations, First offered Fall 1988.
  
  Developed new CS course 311 Navigating the Internet This was a new course that was not offered at any college or university. Frist offered Fall 1994.

  Developed the course modifications to transition CS 150 from the Pascal Programming Language to the C++ programming language Fall 1995.
  
  Developed the course modifications to transition CS 250 from Structured Programming Design to Object Oriented Design in Summer 1997.
  
  Developed the course modifications to provide course lecture notes and related materials for CS 150 to be available for student viewing as WWW information files, including concepts, examples, and grades. This transition was completed in the Fall 1998.
  
  Developed the course modifications to provide CS 311 as a fully asynchronous online Internet based course in the Spring 1999 semester.
  
  Conducting liason with Unisys representatives to design and teach new UNIX courses to support the company's needs. Taught UNIX course to UNISYS employees. Offered Fall - Spring 1987, 1988.
  
  Designed several Continuing Education courses in computing technology for presentation in the Offered Spring/Fall of 1989.

  Developed continuous education program "New Generation Training", a cooperative method of providing university level courses to local corporations. (Fall '92, Spring '93) with a student enrollment exceeding 90 professional analysts, programmers, and computer technicians. Courses are offered on a flexible schedule consistent with business hours and on Saturdays. Five participating corporations remain active in the program.

• Research Interests:
  
  As an educator in the Computer Science Department, I am interested in the application and use of computer based technology in the effective teaching of computer science technology.
  
  I am also interested in the research aspects associated with several fields of Artificial Intelligence, specifically Expert Systems and Robotics. I am engaged in research to merge aspects of both of these fields in an effort to produce a minimally capable robotic device for common everyday household use. This effort in the AI world is concentrated on a single and rather restricted use of a robot, as an information provider for directions in an auditorium scenario Robotic Receptionist). The successful completion of this effort will allow further development and expansion into other more generalized uses of expert robotic capability.

  • Instructor of U.S. Navy OTD Course in Software Intensive Tactical Weapons Systems.
  • Conducted final Operational Evaluation of U.S. Navy's UYK-62 Shipboard Non-tactical ADP System (1984).
  • Designed and planned the Operational Testing of all U.S. Navy Software System projects.
  • Member of U.S. Military Operational Testing Group for testing of all U. S. Military System procurements.

  • CNO ADP Security Assistant
  • Provided technical guidance used to formulate U.S. Navy policy in security of ADP systems.
  • Chairman of the CNO ADP Requirements Definition Assistance Team; provided assistance to CNO Staff Offices in identifying program requirements for automation.
  • Project Manager of USS Dahlgren Project Designed, developed, and managed this prototype small administration, financial and maintenance history ADP system for use aboard Navy ships. The success of this system was used as part of the basis for the development of the U.S. Navy SNAP II Program (Shipboard Non-tactical ADP System).
