Shuiwang Ji is currently an Assistant Professor of the Computer Science Department at
Old Dominion University.
Ji received the Ph.D. degree in Computer Science from Arizona State University in 2010.
His research interests include machine learning, data mining, computational biology, and computational neuroscience.
Ji's current research is supported by an NSF Advances in Biological Informatics (ABI) award,
aiming at investigating the anatomic and genetic landscapes in the mouse brain.
He has authored over 50 research articles and has coauthored a book.
Currently, Ji serves as an Associate Editor for a number of journals,
including BMC Bioinformatics, IEEE Transactions on Neural Networks and Learning Systems,
Shuiwang Ji serves as a co-PI on a new NSF grant ($590K, 2014-2017).
International Workshop on Data Mining for Brain Science, in conjunction with SIGKDD 2014.
Shuiwang Ji has been invited to serve as an Associate Editor for IEEE Transactions on Neural Networks and Learning Systems.
