Lecture 3 hours; 3 credits.
Prerequisite CS 600.
Laboratory work required.
The course will involve solving two or
three comprehensive projects
anchored in computer science and engineering. Possible topics
for projects include:
computational issues in network design and analysis;
scheduling problems and applications;
digital geometry and pattern recognition;
image processing and computer vision applications;
robotics.
The basic thrust is to demonstrate the usefulness and power of
algorithm design and analysis in solving real-life problems.
