Conceptual and logical database design, based on the Entity Relationship model.
Combining conceptual design and functional analysis together for a more powerful
design methodology. Translation of the conceptual model to different logical
models and vice versa. To illustrate the design concepts with a large case
study. Computerized database design tools. Other topics:
object databases, intelligent databases, and distributed
multimedia databases.
