A Master's Thesis must exhibit a high standard of expository writing. It must represent evidence that the student is capable of obtaining and presenting a satisfactory solution to a problem in Computer Science of some complexity.

Each Master's Thesis will be read and judged by a thesis committee consisting of the candidate's supervisor, a faculty member appointed by the supervisor, and a faculty member appointed by the Department through the Graduate Studies Committee. The candidate is required to present a seminar on the thesis topic. A copy of the thesis, conforming to any University requirements for MS Thesis, must be submitted to the Graduate Studies Committee for record keeping.

To register for MS Thesis, the candidate must first obtain the approval of the Graduate Studies Committee on the proposal. The Master's Thesis should address objectives similar to that addressed by the Master's Project. In addition, the study and deduction of general principles must be involved.
