Graduate Research Assistants (GRAs)

GRA positions are determined by grant and contract funding. The chair and associate dean approve the Principle Investigator's selection of the GRAs for hiring. Domestic students appointed as GRAs should go to the Old Dominion University Research foundation (ODURF) to complete the above mentioned employment forms (see page 13). International students report to the Dragus Center and should clearly indicate that they will be employed by ODURF. The authorization for employment will be sent from the Dragas Center to ODURF.

Principal Investigators should remember that all Research Foundation Employment Form 108's need to be presented to the GPD or other designated departmental representative for course enrollment verification and tuition exemption authorization. Signatures must be obtained from the employee/student, PI, departmental chair and associate dean before pay will be authorized by the Research Foundation.
