Top Scholars and faculty who inspired them announced

Five ODU graduates were recognized as outstanding scholars during commencement ceremonies Dec. 14th at the Ted Constant Convocation Center. At a luncheon on campus Dec. 13th, the Alumni Association presented them with Outstanding Scholar Awards, given to the student with the highest grade point average in each college. Also recognized at the luncheon were the Old Dominion faculty members who most inspired the students.

The top scholar for the College of Sciences and her inspirational faculty member were:

Julie Ann Sharp of Hampton, a biological sciences major with a 4.0 GPA; and

Ralph Stevens, associate professor of biological sciences, was honored as Julie's most inspirational faculty member.
