The Association of American Publishers (AAP) named "Mathematics in Nature" the outstanding publication for 2003 in mathematics and statistics at its annual conference in Washington, D.C. Written by University Professor of Mathematics and Statistics John A. Adam at Old Dominion University, the book explores the beauty and wonder of nature through mathematics.

"This is a real honor for the press and I was very proud to accept the award," said Vickie Kern, senior editor at Princeton University Press, which published Adam's book. "Congratulations should really go to John and not to us."

The Professional and Scholarly Publishing Division of AAP gives 30 awards annually to publishers in categories ranging from economics to religion for promoting and encouraging the dissemination of scholarship. A nine-member expert panel of librarians, academics and publishers selected winners from a list of 380 titles.
