3. Mix in 1 cup water or milk and 1/2 cup cooking oil. Knead the dough for about 10 minutes. You should be able to slice through the dough with no problem. Add flour if you can't but I like these soft so I try and use the minimal amount. |

4. Let the dough rise in a warm place (not difficult in Africa) covered for 40 minutes. |

5. Roll out the dough into a circle or oval. |

6. Cut the dough into small squares. |

8. Fry the cake in oil until brown on all sides. |

9. Lay them out on paper to absorb the grease then enjoy. | |
