Agreement between Student and Instructor for WEB cs333
NOTICE TO STUDENTS: please print this
agreement out, sign it and mail it to Dr. Wild (see below)
WEB CS333 is an innovative course offering that was offered for the first
time Fall 1999. In order for this course to be success for you, the student, it is
important that you understand and agree to the following points.
- You understand that this is a web offering and that as such inevitable technical
and procedural problems will arise. Your instructor (Dr. Wild) will make every reasonable
effort to remedy these problems in a timely fashion and further agrees that in no way will
these problems affect your grade.
- You agree to participate in course surveys and to give feedback willingly and honestly
in an effort to improve this course.
- Your instructor will make every effort to answer your e-mail promptly (his goal is
within 24 hours) and further agrees to process your e-mail as top priority.
- You agree to regularly and frequently visit the website for the course and to read your
e-mail (at least twice a week is recommended as minimum).
- You understand that this is a four credit course and will require a
significant effort to complete successfully. As a guide you should expect to
spend between 3-4 hours per credit per week (that is 12-16 hours per week).
Program development and debugging can be time intensive, but you should seek
help if you are spending excessive amounts of time programming.
- You understand that you can meet with the instructor on a regular basis at a mutually
agreeable time to discuss personal progress and course related issues. These meetings can
be held
- In person, during office hours
- Using NetMeeting (available for home PCs)
- Via telephone
- You understand that it is your responsibility to take an active role in making progress
towards completion of this course. Unresolved problems of any nature that hinder this
progress should be brought to the attention of the instructor. You agree to seek help in a
timely fashion to resolve these problems.
