• Skim chapter 1. There should be little in the way of surprises or new material here. If much of this material seems new to you, you may not have the prerequisites to take this course.
• Chapter 2 should also be largely review for you, although some of the language details may be new, and of course you will not have previously seen the example that occupies much of the chapter.
