Asst: Unix account setup


All students in this class must have an account on the CS Dept.'s network of Unix workstations. This is independent of any NetWare or other accounts that you might have through the OCCS, the University's computing system.
  1. If you have had a CS Dept. Unix account within the past year, it should be restored for you automatically, with your old login name and password and all of your old files. If not, you can request a new account by going to the CS Dept home page and clicking on "Online Services", then on "Account Creation".
  2. Once you have your account set up, you should then go here to sign in to the course. This will give you access to the password-protected pages of the course web site.

Note that, with your Unix login account, you also are receiving an e-mail account. Your e-mail address will be login@cs.odu.edu, where "login" is your Unix login name. If you prefer to receive your Unix-related e-mail at a different address, you should set up a forwarding address.
