Virtual Office Hours: Prof. Steven Zeil
Click the button below to enter my virtual office. Enter the room as a "guest", using your real name or your CS login, so that I know whom I am talking with.
- In these sessions you can share applications from your desktop (e.g., to show me some code you are working on) or view applications on mine.
- There is a chat window and support for audio over the internet if your PC has a good microphone. Click the small button at the bottom left of the "camera and Voice" box to activate yours. Alternatively, just call me at (757) 683-4928.
- I'm not in the virtual office all the time. It's important that you do reserve one of the time slots and select the Network option so that I will know to be there with you. Also, if I am going to be off-campus but know that you will be meetign with me via the network, I can forward my office phone number to wherever I am in anticipation of your call.
- You will need a Windows/Apple machine with a browser running a recent version of Flash.
-
The normal Flash viewer will enable you to use chat and to view applications I wish to show you from my desktop. If you want to show me things from your machine, you may need to install a plugin to your Flash viewer. Once you are in the room, go to the "Help" menu and click "Troubleshooting" to run a check to see if you need this plugin.
