Bathsheba is currently enrolled in the Computer Science Ph.D. program at Old Dominion University. She graduated from Norfolk State University in 2000 (B.S. Computer Science) and from Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University (VA Tech) in 2007 (Master of Information Technology).
Bathsheba is currently researching technologies and methods to collect and analyze meaningful data to support PTSD detection and diagnosis under the direction of Dr. Sampath Jayarathna. She has previously performed preliminary research in mobile computing/smart cities including the use of high frequency sounds for inaudible morse code, sign-language interpretation using smartwatch data, and distracted driver detection using vehicular On-Board Diagnostics (OBD) and smartwatch sensor data.
Bathsheba currently serves as a technical branch head within Naval Surface Warfare Center Dahlgren Division (NSWCDD) Dam Neck Activity (DNA). Prior to that, she worked in system and software design and development at various companies for over 18 years. Projects Bathsheba has worked on include those for billing engines, sales and ordering systems, lidar data classification, improved logistics planning, automation to reduce manning, improved supply chain management, integrated training systems and radar data distribution. In addition, Bathsheba taught programming classes part-time at ECPI University for a short time.
