STATEMENT

We wish to emphasize to motorists the importance of eliminating distractions while driving. To accomplish this, we propose a simulation to allow motorists to experience what may happen with just a momentary lapse in attention. This would be accomplished using a gaming engine, a virtual reality headset adaptor for mobile devices, and an application on the end-user's own mobile device. The technology and equipment required to facilitate this solution is readily and cheaply available, and could be presented in a wide range of formats, and upscaled in quality over time if funding and resources become available.

Dorian Voegeli

Dorian is rounding out his last year of school studying Computer Science. He started years ago at Trident Technical College, then many years lapsed before he restarted at Tidewater Community College. He transferred to Northern Virginia Community College, declined admittance into American University (they did not accept any previous credits), transferred to George Mason University, and finally transferred to Old Dominion University. Obviously, he has an obsession with transferring schools, though for some reason is reluctant to mention the amount of credits he's accumulated.

He formerly received a B.A. in computer graphics from Regent University in 2011, as well as obtaining a state certification as an EMT-B. He currently works part time at a private ambulance transport agency while he finishes his degree, and is excited to move in to a career as a programmer.
