- This week's guest lectures cover multimedia digital libraries (Kholief)
and mass storage systems (Pao). Intuitively, we know that the amount of
information we wish to store in DLs is large. The inclusion of multimedia
objects in a DL will dramatically increase the storage capacity, and mass
storage systems will play a critical role as supporting technology. However,
all of this points to an interesting question: how much information is there
to store? Michael Lesk tackles this problem in his 1997 paper.
